Hockeyfreeforall.com’s NHL 2022-2023 Season Predictions

The most wonderful time of the year has arrived! As we set off on another season of NHL hockey, we at HFFA have decided to change the way we make our preseason predictions. Instead of combining each player’s individual Career-AB scores to form an overall team score, this year we applied regression analysis to project a number based on a career trajectory. As usual, we will post midseason report cards at the midseason point of the season, as well as continued coverage of the trade deadline. Hockeyfreeforall.com has had a big summer of developing projects which will soon be released as well, including agency evaluations, goaltending analytics, as well as an amended TAB score. It’s an exciting time here at HFFA, and we can’t wait for you all to be a part of it. With that being said, our preseason pick to win the Stanley Cup is the Colorado Avalanche, as we believe they will repeat as champs when it’s all said and done. Below are the projected standings according to linear regression by conference. Much more to come, happy hockey season everyone!
