We are beginning a new series this off-season we have termed – “part of the solution, part of the problem.” In this column, we will review the performance of players on every NHL team and highlight who was instrumental in producing goals at the margin and who cost their teams games due to their very presence (as well as the potential impact of key retiring players). We will attempt to do one postmortem on a team per day. The corresponding analysis in anticipation of the NHL draft and upcoming free agent signings. Stay tuned.
Note – we are awaiting the outcome of the NSH/ANA series. It looks like HFFA.com and the AB were somewhat mixed with respect to predicting the outcomes of the first round series based on AB score alone. We also made a typo; we had MIN beating DAL in the first round, when in fact it was DAL who had a higher AB than MIN according to our numbers. Since that was the case, presently we stand at 4 series correct, 3 wrong, 1 still to be decided. If you count the error, it is 5 wins and two losses, one undecided. We apologize for any inconvenience due to our editorial oversight.
